# DSX GitHub Actions

A collection of reusable GitHub Actions for standardizing CI/CD workflows across NVIDIA projects.
[![License: Apache-2.0](https://img.shields.io/badge/License-Apache%202.0-blue.svg)](LICENSE)

DSX GitHub Actions provides reusable CI/CD steps and workflows for maintainers
and platform teams working on NVIDIA DSX projects. Copying security scans,
container builds, and release logic between repositories makes fixes and policy
updates hard to apply consistently. This project keeps that shared logic in one
place so callers can pin a reviewed revision and configure it for their project.

Use a sequential heading level.

### Architecture and integrations follows the document's # title, so it skips ##. Change it to ##. The repository does not enforce Markdownlint MD001, so this is a heading-structure correction rather than a repository lint failure.

Review comment at @README.md at line 11:
Update the “Architecture and integrations” heading in the README to use level
two, so it follows the document’s level-one title sequentially.

Composite actions in `.github/actions/` run as steps in a caller's job. Reusable
workflows in `.github/workflows/` define jobs called through `workflow_call`.
They configure tools such as [CodeQL](https://github.com/github/codeql-action),
[TruffleHog](https://github.com/trufflesecurity/trufflehog), and
[Grype](https://github.com/anchore/grype), and connect release artifacts to
GitHub Releases and NVIDIA NGC. Callers select actions or workflows, provide
their source code and build tools, and grant the required permissions and
registry credentials. The scope is CI execution and artifact publication in
GitHub Actions; runner infrastructure and project build logic remain with the
calling repository.

### Security Scanning (Rust)
### Security Scanning (Go)

In a Go repository with a `go.mod` file, save this workflow as
`.github/workflows/security.yml` and push it to GitHub. The `Security Checks`
run appears in the Actions tab. A successful run uploads the analysis to the
Security tab; findings at or above the default severity threshold fail the job.

The examples use GitHub-hosted `ubuntu-latest` runners. CodeQL needs a runner
that supports its Node.js 24 action runtime, Bash, Git, `jq`, and enough memory
for the source being analyzed. The setup step installs the Go version from
`go.mod`; the build must succeed with `go build ./...`. PR comments also need
`gh` and `pull-requests: write`. Secret scanning and container build examples
need Docker. If you select a self-hosted runner, verify its tools and your access
to its runner group; see the [runtime requirements](.github/workflows/README.md#runtime-requirements).

### Security Scanning (Go)
### Add CodeQL to an Existing Go Job

Use this step after checkout and Go setup. `build-command` runs only with
`build-mode: manual`. For Rust, use `build-mode: none` as shown in the
[language-specific examples](.github/actions/codeql-scan/README.md#rust-project-example).

`.github/actions/`, test it with caller projects, and update the action table
above. Releases follow the automatic versioning process described above.
