  • The first launch on a new version shows "Updated to vX.Y.Z" with a "What's new" action that opens treq.dev/changelog, once per version
  • A fresh install records its version silently. The last-seen version lives in the app settings database, so no Rust change is needed
  • New useWhatsNew hook, mounted beside useAutoUpdate in Dashboard, with unit tests for fresh install, same version, update, downgrade, and the changelog link
