The Image Downloader feature is great (you can even use it to directly download a Windows ISO from Microsoft), but once the image has been downloaded, you want to know for certain that the download succeeded. I'd love to have a way in the UI to checksum an image with various checksums (sha1 is common, but Microsoft uses sha256, and some communities still use md5).
I can work around this from the terminal.
To avoid recomputing checksums, it could probably be sufficient to store the checksum, along with the checksum timestamp, in the file's extended attributes, or in another file. And then you could compare that timestamp with the modification time to invalidate it.
I think some chip buttons in the Mount Image interface, to compute various checksums, plus a tooltip to show the sum if available, would be a nice clean interface.
