Update existing app sync using appId

According to documentation available here https://www.serverless.com/plugins/serverless-appsync-plugin there is a provision to update an existing app sync by passing in the appId.

Unfortunately it seems to be not working and wondering if it is still supported with v2.

Can you kindly assist here if I have understood things incorrectly here.

Thanks for the question — and sorry for the confusion. There isn't an apiId option in v2 to update or adopt an existing AppSync API. v2 creates and manages the API entirely through CloudFormation as part of your stack, so there's no supported way to point it at an API created outside that stack. The page on serverless.com is community-maintained and predates v2; the source of truth is this repo's README, which has no apiId config field.
The only place the plugin uses an apiId is internal: for CLI commands like serverless appsync get-introspection / info / logs, it resolves the id from the CloudFormation stack that deployed the API.
Closing as answered (not supported in v2). If you'd find "adopt/manage an existing external API by id" useful as a feature, say so and I'll relabel this as an enhancement to track it. (This is separate from #594/#647/#652, which are about resolving the id across split/nested stacks for an API the plugin already manages.)
