DeepSeek Harness — Proteus audio-evolution snapshot

Unofficial research artifact derived from DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.8 and evolved by Proteus. Not affiliated with or endorsed by DeepSeek.

This public repository preserves the final accepted DeepSeek Harness source from a 30-Episode Proteus self-improvement campaign. The exact evolved source is tagged snapshot-b65f16e0. Read the self-improvement report, inspect the privacy-reduced 30-Episode trace, or download the runnable package from the Episode 30 release.

The source below remains DeepSeek Harness 0.1.0-rc.8 under its original MIT license. The final snapshot adds first-class audio input, an OpenAI-compatible ASR provider, grounded transcripts for ordinary prompts and /goal//plan, default Web/headless composition wiring, a Web settings surface, and harness-owned offline verification.

Upstream project information

English | 中文

DeepSeek Harness (dsh) is an open-source agent harness developed by DeepSeek AI.

It uses an architecture where everything is a plugin, and is powered by Cordis, whose design is described in A Programming Paradigm for Spatiotemporal Composability.

Developer preview

DeepSeek Harness is currently in developer preview and is iterating rapidly. THERE WILL BE COMPATIBILITY-BREAKING CHANGES.

Run

Run from npm

Install Node.js, then run:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web

The command starts the Web UI at http://127.0.0.1:3080 by default and opens it in the default browser for a local launch. An SSH launch only prints the host URL because the SSH client or editor owns the local forwarded address. Pass --no-open to run the server without opening a browser. See Web UI guide.

Run from source

To run from a repository checkout:

git clone https://github.com/deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness.git
cd deepseek-harness
pnpm install
pnpm run build
pnpm dsh web

pnpm run build prepares the repository artifacts. pnpm dsh web uses those built artifacts without rebuilding.
