Summary

Frontend for TRG-7 triggers, built on the settings-page API from #15786 (already in release-1.14.0).

  • Trigger node – status badge in the run-button slot with a popover (state, reason, inline fix, Test, Events), an Enabled switch, and a per-connection Allow background runs consent for provider triggers.
  • Webhook node – endpoint URL with copy, and a signing secret that is shown once on create/rotate.
  • Settings → Triggers – table of the caller's triggers across flows (source/transport, connection, state + reason + last error, last event, Test, row menu). Blocked actions stay visible and focusable with the server's reason. Superusers get an All triggers tab with a provider filter and dry-run-confirmed bulk pause/resume.
  • Events drawer – All / Failed / Replays / Tests filters, normalized payload, attempts, session, dedupe key, run link, and Replay that selects the new linked event.
  • One trigger per flow – enforced through the shared placement engine for both the palette and paste.
  • All copy in the eight locale catalogs. ENABLE_TRIGGERS is turned on now that the Enabled switch exists.

Controls are rendered from allowed_actions / blocked_actions as the server computes them; the UI never re-derives permissions from state. Data refreshes at trigger_polling_interval from /config.

Testing

  • Jest: 763 suites / 8324 tests pass (new suites under components/core/triggers/__tests__).
  • Playwright (12/12 pass locally):
    • triggers-schedule.spec.ts – enable, test, inspect, replay, pause, resume, delete; refused test/replay on a paused trigger never reach the server.
    • triggers-provider.spec.ts – mocked Slack: consent, inline fix, subscription convergence, test/pause/resume/delete; operator bulk pause/resume with dry-run counts.
    • triggers.a11y.spec.ts – axe scans and keyboard paths for the table (populated, empty, mobile), row menu, drawer, dialogs and the node badge popover.
  • The specs run against tests/utils/trigger-mocks.ts, a stateful fake that ports services/triggers/capabilities.py and follows operator.py, so they exercise the rules the server actually applies.
  • Manual, against a real backend: a Schedule trigger fires on its cron; a signed webhook call returns 202 and runs the flow; a duplicate delivery creates no second event; a tampered signature and a stale timestamp both return 404.

How to test

  1. Run this branch (make backend + make frontend).
  2. Add a Schedule node to a flow (e.g. cron */2 * * * *) → Chat Output, save, and turn on Enabled. Open the badge popover and the events drawer.
  3. In a second flow, add Inbound Webhook, generate the secret, and post a signed request:
    SECRET='<from dialog>'; URL='<endpoint URL>'; BODY='{"hello":"world"}'; TS=$(date +%s)
    SIG=$(printf 'v1:%s:%s' "$TS" "$BODY" | openssl dgst -sha256 -hmac "$SECRET" -hex | awk '{print $NF}')
    curl -i -X POST "$URL" -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H "X-Langflow-Timestamp: $TS" -H "X-Langflow-Signature: v1=$SIG" -d "$BODY"
  4. Check Settings → Triggers (and All triggers as a superuser): pause/resume, Test, Replay, delete.

Notes

  • The scans found that the event payload <pre> carried a tab stop and an aria-label on a generic role; it now wraps instead of scrolling in its own box. The open row menu (Radix portal outside a landmark) and the popover focus guards are baselined with the same rationale as the existing MCP servers and model picker baselines.
  • Rebased onto release-1.14.0; the Settings nav entry now lives in useSettingsSidebarItems.
  • Button keeps a caller's aria-disabled so blocked controls stay focusable.

Follow-ups (not in this PR)

  • Rejected webhook deliveries (bad signature, stale timestamp) are only visible in the superuser audit log, so an owner with a misconfigured caller sees no signal. Suggest surfacing the last rejection reason on the trigger.
  • One-trigger-per-flow is enforced in the UI only; saving a flow through the API appears to accept two trigger nodes.
  • Slack / Google / Microsoft triggers are covered by mocked E2E only; they have not been exercised against a live provider.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a Triggers page for viewing and managing triggers, with search, status and provider filters, and bulk pause or resume controls for administrators.
    • View trigger status and controls directly on flow-canvas nodes. Flows now allow only one trigger.
    • Inspect event history and details, test triggers, and replay eligible events.
    • Manage schedules and webhook endpoints, including signing secrets. Background-run consent is requested when needed before enabling a trigger.

…ents drawer)

Adds the triggers UI on top of the TRG-7 settings API:

- Query layer for /api/v1/triggers (list across flows, operator scope,
enable/disable, test, events, replay, ingress, signing secret, bulk)
  polling at trigger_polling_interval from /config.
- Node badge in the run-button slot with a popover (reason, inline fix,
test, events), plus the Enabled switch and per-connection
"Allow background runs" consent on trigger nodes.
- Settings > Triggers: owner table with source/transport, connection,
state + reason + last error, last event, test and a row menu whose
blocked actions stay focusable with the server's reason; superuser
"All triggers" tab with provider filter and dry-run-confirmed bulk
  pause/resume.
- Events drawer: ledger filters, normalized payload, dedupe key,
session, run link, and replay that selects the new linked event.
- Webhook node: endpoint URL and show-once signing secret with rotate.
- One trigger per flow via the shared placement engine (palette and
  paste).
- All copy in the eight locale catalogs.

Actions are rendered from allowed_actions/blocked_actions as the server
computes them. ENABLE_TRIGGERS is turned on now that the Enabled switch
exists. Button keeps a caller's aria-disabled so blocked controls stay
focusable.
Adds the E2E and accessibility suite the TRG-7 handoff asks for.

- tests/utils/trigger-mocks.ts: stateful fake of the triggers API. It
computes allowed/blocked actions with a port of
services/triggers/capabilities.py and follows operator.py for bulk
eligibility, so specs exercise behaviour the server actually has. The
config route is passed through with a 1 s poll interval.
- triggers-schedule.spec.ts: drop a Schedule node, save, enable, test,
  inspect the event, replay (new linked event), pause, resume, delete;
plus refused test/replay on a paused trigger never reaching the server.
- triggers-provider.spec.ts: mocked Slack trigger needing consent; the
fix asks before granting, the subscription converges by polling, then
test/pause/resume/delete. Operator bulk pause/resume by provider with
dry-run counts; resume only undoes the admin pause.
- triggers.a11y.spec.ts: scans of the table (populated, empty, mobile),
row menu, events drawer, replay/consent/secret/delete/bulk dialogs and
the node badge popover, plus keyboard paths through each.
- /settings/triggers joins the static a11y route manifest.

The scans found the event payload <pre> carried a tab stop and an
aria-label IBM rejects on a generic role; it now wraps instead of
scrolling in its own box. The open row menu (Radix portal outside a
landmark) and the popover focus guards are baselined with the same
rationale as the existing MCP servers and model picker baselines.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title names the feature area (triggers), the frontend scope, and the three main UI surfaces the changeset adds: the canvas node badge, the Settings page, and the events drawer. The changeset matches this description. The title does not mention the one-trigger-per-flow placement rule, the feature flag change, or the locale and mock additions, but it does not need to cover every detail. The ticket reference TRG-7 is specific but adds no meaning for a reader who does not know the ticket.

Full details: Test Coverage For New Implementations

Explanation

The PR includes substantial, non-placeholder coverage for the new frontend functionality. Dedicated unit/component tests cover signing-secret state, action availability, event drawer behavior, node controls, presentation/filter helpers, polling normalization, the trigger API, Settings → Triggers, button accessibility, and one-trigger placement. Playwright specs cover schedule and provider lifecycles, blocked actions, events and replay, consent, bulk operations, dialogs, node badge behavior, keyboard paths, and accessibility scans. Frontend test files use the project conventions (*.test.ts, *.test.tsx, and *.spec.ts); no backend files changed.

Full details: Test File Naming And Structure

Explanation

The pull request follows the required test naming and structure. All changed unit tests are *.test.ts or *.test.tsx under src/frontend/src, and Jest is configured to discover those paths with ts-jest, jsdom, and the shared Testing Library setup. All changed end-to-end tests are *.spec.ts under src/frontend/tests, and Playwright is configured with that test directory. No backend test files changed, so the backend naming rule is not applicable. Test suites use describe/test or it with descriptive names, cover positive and negative cases, and reset shared mock state with beforeEach where needed. The tests are grouped by trigger component, helper, page, accessibility, and feature lifecycle.

Full details: Excessive Mock Usage Warning

Explanation

The new tests use mocks at external boundaries, not for the trigger helpers or components under test. The component tests render real UI and assert user interactions, while query, mutation, store, navigation, and icon dependencies are mocked. The API tests mock only the HTTP client. The Playwright tests use one stateful API test double for external trigger, connection, and bulk-operation responses, then exercise real frontend routes and interactions. Separate tests execute filtering, presentation, placement, and lifecycle helpers without mocks. No excessive mock usage that obscures core behavior is evident.

Full details: Test Quality And Coverage

Explanation

The PR provides broad Jest/RTL, Playwright, and accessibility coverage for trigger workflows. However, the new API client has no error-response tests. api.test.ts only uses resolved mocks and tests successful request construction, while api.ts adds list, read, mutation, ingress, secret, replay, and bulk operations. The changed UI tests also do not exercise query or mutation error states, despite error branches in TriggersListState.tsx and BulkTriggersDialog.tsx. The mock implements 404/405 responses, but no E2E test asserts the resulting UI behavior.

Resolution

Add Jest API tests that mock rejected HTTP calls for representative GET, POST, DELETE, replay, ingress, signing-secret, and bulk operations, and verify errors propagate or normalize as intended. Add RTL tests for trigger-list, dry-run, bulk-confirm, replay, and mutation failures, including rendered fallback/error alerts and preserved dialog state. Add at least one Playwright scenario with a 4xx/5xx response to verify user-visible error handling.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 67.65% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 34 functions across 50 files. (36 skipped: 11 unsupported, 25 over the file limit.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

@keval718, I pushed 5765ba9 for the review findings and the four CodeRabbit threads. Event history now uses bounded pages, settings includes older triggers and providers, and Open run opens the selected execution's trace. The rotation dialog, blocked tooltips, and background polling behavior are also fixed.

I found no remaining blocking issues in the updated changes. The target remains release-1.14.0.

Verification

npm test -- --runInBand --watch=false passed 765 suites and 8,331 tests.

RUN_A11Y=true RUN_A11Y_ASSERT=true npx playwright test tests/a11y/triggers.a11y.spec.ts tests/core/features/triggers-schedule.spec.ts tests/core/features/triggers-provider.spec.ts --project=chromium --workers=2 passed all 14 tests, including IBM accessibility scans. Axe checks cover the rotation dialog and run inspector. Existing accessibility baselines are unchanged.

npm run build and npm run check:i18n passed. Biome, diff checks, and the commit hook's detect-secrets check also passed.

node_modules/.bin/tsc --noEmit --pretty false --project tsconfig.json still reports 255 errors. Normalized diagnostics match the original PR head exactly, so these changes introduce no new TypeScript errors.
