Use multirepo with awesome pages nav autogeneration

Hello!

I'm trying to use this plugin with awesome-pages to import repos, which are using navigation autogeneration, but it doesn't seem to work. If i run mkdocs in the imported repo - all works well, but when running in the root - i only get three dots in my URI instead of generated nav

After lots of testing I've found out a situation where it partially works. If I'm using .pages.yml as nav files, they get copied over for all directories except the root one when imported using repos.

Let's have source structure like this:

Foo
  - .pages.yml
  - index.md
Bar
  - .pages.yml
  - index.md
.pages.yml
index.md
requirements.txt
Dockerfile

and the final structure after import:

Foo
  - .pages.yml
  - index.md
Bar
  - .pages.yml
  - index.md
index.md
requirements.txt
Dockerfile

I don't know why it copies over the ones in subdirs but not the one in root. I've tried using different file name but it gets completely ignored.
