1. If external editor is set to ProjectCenter, and PC is capable of opening that file, use it 2. If external editor is set, and it is capable of opening the file, launch it 3. fall back to whatever NSWorkspace know for that role. For Files without extenions that is little. All these changes imply that the preferred editor must be either a GS application or a Wrapper, not just a CLI or X11 app.
