ESP-IDF v5.4/v5.5 support

Recently I have investigated using different ESP-IDF with esp-idf-sys and shared my findings in this issue.

I thought it would be best to ask about this here as well. What is the current support of these latest ESP-IDF versions?

These are supported as long as you use esp-idf-* crates from GIT.

A new release of the crates to crates.io is "imminent" but this "imminent" is ongoing for > 2 months now.
There are a handful of things necessary before I release a new version: esp-rs/esp-idf-svc#605 (comment)
