Add a provenance-governed Future-First Design specification and skill #66

Description

@szmyty

Outcome

Evaluate and adapt the useful parts of Future-First Design into an Ego Hygiene-owned, provider-neutral frontend architecture specification and reusable Aether skill.

Reference sources:

The upstream project describes a framework-agnostic philosophy for robust, future-proof frontend applications. Ego Hygiene should preserve useful principles with exact provenance while keeping its own architecture, accessibility, privacy, sustainability, and evidence policies authoritative.

Required work

  • Pin the exact upstream revision reviewed and record authorship, license, source paths, and content digest.
  • Extract the underlying principles and compare them against existing Hygiene, Identity, Holon, Agent-Ready Web, accessibility, local-first, and repository-quality contracts.
  • Produce an adopt/adapt/reject matrix for each principle.
  • Identify ambiguous, redundant, outdated, framework-specific, or unsupported recommendations.
  • Author a versioned Ego Hygiene specification only for the accepted organization-owned requirements.
  • Author a portable skill that helps an agent:
    • assess future change pressure;
    • identify brittle assumptions and hard-coded boundaries;
    • prefer standards and replaceable adapters;
    • design explicit extension and migration seams;
    • preserve progressive enhancement, accessibility, privacy, sustainability, and graceful degradation;
    • distinguish present requirements from speculative overengineering;
    • produce evidence-backed recommendations and an incremental migration plan.
  • Add positive, negative, boundary, insufficient-evidence, and overengineering evaluations.
  • Publish through normal Aether provenance, validation, compatibility, and release contracts.

Integration contract

  • Holon may consume the released spec/skill when creating or updating React/Vite and site blueprints.
  • Identity remains the owner of brand and design-system semantics.
  • Hygiene remains the owner of normative organization policy.
  • Aether owns the reusable agent artifact, not frontend implementation.
  • Consumer repositories retain product-specific design decisions.

Acceptance criteria

  • The exact upstream revision, license, and reviewed content are recorded.
  • Every upstream principle has an adopt/adapt/reject disposition.
  • Accepted requirements are reconciled with existing Ego Hygiene contracts.
  • A versioned specification and portable skill are published from canonical Aether source.
  • The skill prevents speculative future-proofing from overriding current evidence and simplicity.
  • Evaluations cover migration, standards, adapter boundaries, accessibility, degradation, and overengineering.
  • One Holon blueprint and one materially different consumer repository pilot the skill.
  • Generated recommendations cite repository evidence and distinguish required, recommended, optional, unknown, and not-applicable.
  • Upstream content is not copied beyond what its license and attribution permit.

Non-goals

  • Treating an external philosophy as organization policy without review.
  • Replacing Identity, Hygiene, or Holon ownership.
  • Requiring every application to use the same framework or architecture.
  • Adding abstractions for hypothetical futures without a plausible change pressure.
