Outcome

Create profile/README.md as the canonical GitHub organization landing page for Ego Hygiene and align it with the organization profile metadata, egohygiene.io, funding surfaces, and the actual repository ecosystem.

Context

GitHub recognizes profile/README.md in the public egohygiene/.github repository as the organization profile README. The repository root README.md serves a different purpose and should remain focused on the .github control-plane repository itself.

The profile README was identified during initial repository bootstrap but does not yet have a dedicated implementation issue.

Scope

• Inspect the current organization profile, repository catalog, and public-facing identity before writing copy.
• Create profile/README.md using GitHub's supported organization-profile path.
• Explain Ego Hygiene clearly without presenting planned systems as already shipped.
• Provide a concise orientation to the ecosystem and link only to real public destinations.
• Align terminology and messaging with organization General settings and the egohygiene.io public site.
• Include sponsorship/support navigation only where the destination is live and appropriate.
• Keep the root README.md focused on the purpose and maintenance of the .github repository.
• Prefer maintainable Markdown over a badge-heavy or fragile landing page.
• Check accessibility of headings, link text, images, and alt text.

Acceptance criteria

• profile/README.md exists and renders on the Ego Hygiene organization profile.
• The README communicates what Ego Hygiene is, what visitors can explore, and how the organization is structured.
• Current and planned work are distinguishable.
• All linked repositories/sites exist and are public at implementation time.
• Public profile copy is consistent with organization General settings.
• Funding/support links are included only when live and verified.
• The root repository README and organization profile README have distinct responsibilities.
• Local and external links are reviewed for correctness.
