A full-stack e-commerce platform — the most advanced project in my portfolio, designed to cover the technologies that show up in real production backend systems but don't fit into a simple CRUD API.
What it does:
- Three user roles —
CUSTOMER,SELLER,ADMIN— each with different permissions - Product catalog with search, filtering, categories, and images
- Shopping cart stored in Redis with TTL (expires after 7 days of inactivity)
- Order lifecycle with a real state machine:
PENDING → CONFIRMED → PAID → SHIPPED → DELIVERED → CANCELLED / REFUNDED - Optimistic locking on inventory to prevent overselling when multiple customers buy concurrently
- Scheduled auto-cancellation of unpaid orders (
@Scheduled) - Kafka events — order creation and shipping trigger async notification events
- JWT authentication with access + refresh tokens
- React frontend (Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui) consuming the API
