Migrate removed compiler options before selecting TypeScript 7
After this upgrade, npm run build invokes the new tsc with tsconfig.json, which still sets target: "es5" and moduleResolution: "node". TypeScript 7 turns both settings into hard errors, as documented in the TypeScript 7 release notes, so build:cjs—and therefore the prepare lifecycle during a clean install—cannot emit the package. Migrate the configuration and add separate ES5 transpilation if required, or retain TypeScript 6.

Keep a TypeScript 6 API for Jest and ESLint
Directly installing TypeScript 7 also removes the JavaScript compiler API consumed by the configured ts-jest and typescript-eslint versions; their lockfile peer ranges are <7 and <6.1.0 respectively. Consequently, even after the build configuration is migrated, test:jest and TypeScript linting cannot load a compatible compiler. The ts-jest TypeScript 7 guide requires installing TypeScript 7 under a separate alias while keeping typescript aliased to @typescript/typescript6 for these tools.
Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.
