Projects

CoParse — Contract Review for Students

Kotlin · Android · OCR · NLP · On-Device AI · Document Intelligence

Android app that helps students understand and review complex legal contracts. I led a 6-engineer team from user research through the analysis pipeline.

  • Interviewed 30+ students to identify contract pain points and turn that feedback into engineering priorities
  • Built a Kotlin analysis pipeline using OCR and NLP to identify clauses, flag risks, and recommend next steps

GitHub: a2105z/CoParse

Chronos — AI Planner

React · FastAPI · REST APIs · LLMs · Scheduling · JWT Authentication

AI planner that turns natural-language goals into conflict-free schedules. Built with 3 students.

  • Scheduling engine enforcing 6 constraints across availability, deadlines, protected time, and task conflicts
  • React / FastAPI app with 28 REST APIs, 88 tests, user authentication, and scheduling diagnostics

Thread — AI Recruiting Companion

SwiftUI · LLMs · On-Device AI · Speech Recognition · Automation

Turns a 20-second conversation recap into a contact, context, and a follow-up.

  • Confirmation flow that captures recruiting details accurately and cuts down incorrect information
  • On-device speech, reminders, and AI-generated follow-up drafts for managing relationships

Experience

University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign — Machine Learning Systems Developer and Researcher

Sep 2026 – Present · Urbana, IL

Live captioning and lecture tools for ScribeAR, supporting 100+ hours of accessible real-time lecture transcription.

  • Improving speech recognition for technical CS and engineering terms, increasing transcription accuracy by 18%
  • Building low-latency audio processing so captions stay clearer and faster during live lectures
  • Developing an NLP-powered lecture visualizer that turns live audio into real-time systems diagrams and animations

Siebel School of Computing and Data Science — CS Undergraduate Course Assistant, Tutor, & Peer Mentor

Jan 2026 – May 2026 · Urbana-Champaign, IL

  • Tutored 200+ students in data structures and architecture: lists, trees, queues, ADTs, assembly, pipelining, datapaths
  • Guided C/C++ debugging and systems concepts: memory, pointers, recursion, control flow, caching, and architecture
  • Built an interactive data structure visualizer for execution flow and real-code applications
  • Mentored fellow first-gen CS students through office hours, reviews, tutoring, and course planning

AlgoDynamix — Software Development Intern, Financial Data Solutions

Jun 2025 – Aug 2025 · London, UK

  • Built Python tooling for Time-Weighted Expectancy and portfolio risk metrics
  • Automated data pipelines across thousands of trade-log records with NumPy and pandas, cutting manual prep time by 50%
  • Evaluated ML models on financial datasets and translated results into research insights
  • Rotated across data, research, and product, working directly with the founder on technical decisions

LingoGate — Co-Founder and AI Software Developer

Sep 2022 – May 2025 · Chicago, IL

AI-native multilingual education platform using NLP, speech-to-text, machine translation, and text-to-speech.

  • Designed a multimodal localization pipeline for transcription, contextual translation, cultural adaptation, and synthesis
  • Led 0 → 1 product development from user research and technical design through prototyping, testing, and product strategy
  • Named Top 10 in EY’s Inclusive AI Challenge and Top 60 of 1,814 global NFTE innovations addressing the UN’s SDGs
