Serpel agent skills

Agent Skills that teach coding agents how to use Serpel: Google rank tracking, site audits, keyword research, Search Console and Bing data, web analytics, codebase scans, recommendations and AI visibility in ChatGPT answers and Google AI Overviews.

The skills describe every command of the serpel command line tool, what it costs, which mistakes to avoid and which steps belong together. An agent that loads them knows which function exists and how to use it safely, from sign-in to the weekly review.

Install

With the Serpel CLI (after npm install -g @serpel/cli):

serpel skills install

The CLI also offers the installation once after serpel auth login. It detects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode, downloads the skills, checks every file against manifest.json and installs them into the skills folder of each detected agent. Useful variants:

serpel skills install --agent claude-code --scope project
serpel skills install --skill serpel --skill serpel-setup
serpel skills install --dir ./my-agent/skills
serpel skills update
serpel skills list
serpel skills remove --yes

With the open skills tool, which supports many more agents:

npx skills add Serpelapp/agent-skills

By hand: copy the folders under skills/ into the skills folder of your agent, for example ~/.claude/skills/ for Claude Code or ~/.agents/skills/ for Codex and other agents that read it.

Requirements

  • A Serpel account. Sign up for free.
  • For the CLI skills: Node.js 20.9 or newer and npm install -g @serpel/cli.
  • The same knowledge applies to the MCP server at https://serpel.app/mcp. The skill serpel lists its tools.

Safety

  • The skills are plain Markdown. They contain no scripts and no program code.
  • The serpel skills install command verifies the SHA-256 checksum and size of every file against manifest.json and refuses unsafe paths. It never overwrites a folder that it did not create unless you pass --force.
  • The skills tell agents to estimate costs before paid operations, to ask before destructive commands and never to use the purchase flags on their own.

Versions

manifest.json lists every skill file with its checksum, the skills version and the minimum CLI version (minimumCliVersion) the commands in the skills were written for. Run serpel skills update after updating the CLI. Releases are tagged v<version>.
