Create T3 App

This is a T3 Stack project bootstrapped with create-t3-app.

What's next? How do I make an app with this?

We try to keep this project as simple as possible, so you can start with just the scaffolding we set up for you, and add additional things later when they become necessary.

If you are not familiar with the different technologies used in this project, please refer to the respective docs. If you still are in the wind, please join our Discord and ask for help.

You can check out the create-t3-app GitHub repository — your feedback and contributions are welcome!

How do I deploy this?

Follow our deployment guides for Vercel, Netlify and Docker for more information.

AudioVerse - AI Voice Platform

AudioVerse is a cutting-edge AI voice platform that provides high-quality text-to-speech and voice cloning services.

1. Software Architect Perspective

1.1. System Architecture

The application follows a modern, serverless, and full-stack architecture using the T3 Stack. This architecture is well-suited for building scalable and maintainable web applications.

  • Frontend: The frontend is built with Next.js, a React framework that enables features like server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG). This choice is excellent for performance and SEO. The UI is styled with Tailwind CSS, a utility-first CSS framework that allows for rapid and consistent styling.
  • Backend: The backend is powered by Next.js API routes, which provide a serverless environment for handling API requests. This is a cost-effective and scalable approach to building a backend.
  • Database: The application uses Prisma as its Object-Relational Mapper (ORM) to interact with a SQLite database. Prisma provides a type-safe and intuitive way to work with databases.
  • Authentication: Authentication is handled by NextAuth.js, a complete authentication solution for Next.js applications. It supports various authentication providers and strategies.
  • Asynchronous Tasks: The application uses Inngest for handling long-running, asynchronous tasks like generating audio files. Inngest provides a reliable and scalable way to manage background jobs.
  • Deployment: The application is designed to be deployed on platforms like Vercel or Netlify, which are optimized for Next.js applications.

1.2. Technology Stack

  • Next.js: React framework for the frontend and backend.
  • React: JavaScript library for building user interfaces.
  • TypeScript: Superset of JavaScript that adds static typing.
  • Tailwind CSS: Utility-first CSS framework.
  • Prisma: ORM for database access.
  • SQLite: Relational database.
  • NextAuth.js: Authentication for Next.js.
  • Inngest: Asynchronous task handling.
  • Zustand: State management library for React.
  • React Hook Form: Library for managing forms in React.
  • AWS S3: For storing generated audio files.

1.3. Code Structure

The codebase is well-organized and follows the standard conventions of a Next.js project.

  • src/app: Contains the main application pages and API routes.
  • src/components: Contains reusable React components.
  • src/server: Contains server-side logic, including database and authentication setup.
  • src/lib: Contains utility functions and libraries.
  • src/styles: Contains global CSS styles.
  • prisma: Contains the Prisma schema and migration files.

1.4. Scalability and Performance

The architecture is designed for scalability and performance.

  • Serverless: The use of Next.js API routes and Inngest allows the application to scale automatically with demand.
  • Edge Functions: Next.js middleware and API routes can be deployed as edge functions, which run closer to the user and reduce latency.
  • Database Pooling: Prisma manages database connections efficiently, preventing bottlenecks.
  • Caching: Next.js provides built-in caching mechanisms for both data and rendered pages.

1.5. Security

The application incorporates several security best practices.

  • Authentication: NextAuth.js provides secure authentication and session management.
  • Authorization: The application checks for user authentication before performing any sensitive actions.
  • Input Validation: The application uses Zod for validating user input, preventing common vulnerabilities like XSS and SQL injection.
  • Environment Variables: The application uses environment variables to store sensitive information like API keys and database credentials.

2. Software Developer Perspective

2.1. Development Environment

The project is set up with a modern development environment that includes:

  • TypeScript: For static typing and improved code quality.

  • ESLint and Prettier: For code linting and formatting, ensuring a consistent code style.

  • NPM Scripts: A set of NPM scripts for common development tasks like building, testing, and linting the code.

  • Hot Reloading: Next.js provides hot reloading during development, which speeds up the development process.

2.2. Code Quality and Maintainability

The code is well-written, and the use of TypeScript and modern React features makes it easy to understand and maintain.

  • Component-Based Architecture: The frontend is built with reusable React components, which promotes code reuse and maintainability.
  • State Management: The application uses Zustand for state management, which is a simple and lightweight solution for managing global state.
  • Server Actions: The application uses Next.js Server Actions for handling form submissions and data mutations, which simplifies the code and improves security.
  • Type Safety: The use of TypeScript and Prisma ensures type safety throughout the application, reducing the risk of runtime errors.

2.3. Testing

The project does not currently have any tests. Adding a testing framework like Jest or Vitest would be beneficial for ensuring the quality and reliability of the code.

2.4. Dependencies

The project uses a number of third-party dependencies, which are managed with NPM. The dependencies are up-to-date and well-maintained.

3. Product Manager Perspective

3.1. Product Overview

AudioVerse is a powerful text-to-speech and voice cloning platform that allows users to:

  • Generate text-to-speech: Convert text into lifelike speech using a variety of voices.
  • Generate speech-to-speech: Convert an audio recording of a voice into a different voice.
  • Generate sound effects: Generate sound effects from a text prompt.
  • View generation history: View a history of all the audio clips they have generated.

3.2. User Experience (UX)

The application has a clean and intuitive user interface that is easy to use.

  • Onboarding: The application has a simple sign-up and sign-in process.
  • Navigation: The application is easy to navigate, with a clear and consistent layout.
  • Feedback: The application provides clear feedback to the user, such as loading indicators and success messages.

3.3. Features

The application offers a comprehensive set of features for high-quality voice synthesis and manipulation.

  • Text-to-Speech: The text-to-speech feature is the core feature of the application. It allows users to generate high-quality audio from text.
  • Speech-to-Speech: The speech-to-speech feature is a more advanced feature that allows users to clone their own voice or the voice of someone else.
  • Sound Effects: The sound effects feature is a fun and creative feature that allows users to generate sound effects from text.
  • History: The history feature is a useful feature that allows users to keep track of their generated audio clips.

3.4. Monetization

The application has a credit-based system, where users are given a certain number of credits to generate audio. This is a common monetization strategy for this type of service.

3.5. Potential Improvements

  • Add more voices: The application could be improved by adding more voices to the text-to-speech and speech-to-speech features.
  • Improve the voice cloning quality: The quality of the voice cloning could be improved to make it more realistic.
  • Add a voice marketplace: The application could be improved by adding a marketplace where users can buy and sell voices.
  • Add a mobile app: The application could be improved by adding a mobile app for iOS and Android.

Azure Storage Configuration

To use Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, set the following environment variables (e.g., in your deployment environment or .env file):

AZURE_STORAGE_ACCOUNT_NAME=your_account_name
AZURE_STORAGE_KEY=your_account_key
AZURE_CONTAINER_NAME=your_container_name
AZURE_BLOB_ENDPOINT=https://your_account_name.blob.core.windows.net/

Replace the values with your actual Azure Storage credentials. The default container for new uploads is works.
