About

I'm studying a Master of Cyber Security at Edith Cowan University in Perth, which I started in Semester 2, 2026 on a scholarship, and working as a Logistics Administrator alongside it. The course finishes with an industry placement.

My technical background is in software testing — a QA Engineering bootcamp at TripleTen, a few freelance testing projects through uTest, and the automation projects below. It's a useful foundation for security work: reading specifications carefully, breaking things deliberately, and documenting exactly what I find.

Right now I'm working through Linux and networking fundamentals on TryHackMe, threat hunting with KQL on KC7, and CTF challenges on CyLab/picoCTF, with a Kali Linux home lab to practise on. It all goes into a public learning log. I'm aiming for a security analyst or security engineering role after I graduate.

Currently

  • Master of Cyber Security at ECU — Semester 2, 2026: Cyber Security, Computer Networks and Security, Scripting Languages
  • Home lab — Kali Linux VM, SSH, network segmentation; Raspberry Pi and WireGuard next
  • Hands-on practice — TryHackMe (Linux fundamentals, network services, Nmap), KC7 (KQL threat hunting), CyLab/picoCTF
  • Notes — an Obsidian vault for private study notes, and a public learning log for the write-ups worth sharing

Skills

Security & networking Kali Linux · Nmap · Wireshark · SMB/SSH enumeration · KQL (Microsoft Sentinel / Azure Data Explorer) · CyberChef
Testing & automation Python · Pytest · Requests · Selenium (Page Object Model) · Postman · Swagger · Android Studio
Tooling Git · GitHub · Linux CLI · Bash · SQL / PostgreSQL · Jira · Obsidian · VS Code · PyCharm

Projects

Built during the QA Engineering bootcamp at TripleTen.

Smaller practice repositories: api_stand_tests and selinium-exercises-qa-bootcamp.

Learning Log

Everything I study gets written up in My-learning-log — notes from labs, CTF challenges and home lab work, written to be useful to someone learning the same material.

Covered so far: Linux fundamentals · network services (SMB, Telnet, SSH) · Nmap and network scanning · CTF techniques on CyLab/picoCTF · threat hunting with KQL on KC7 · QA and API testing reference.
