The web is splitting into two layers, and only one of them is being talked about.
The first is the agentic web — the web as machines will use it. APIs talking to APIs. Large language models as the universal input/output layer, reading, writing, negotiating, and acting on our behalf. This layer is dynamic, sophisticated, and self-improving. It will become almost entirely autonomous. It does not need us to be present, and increasingly, it does not need us to understand it. It is the connective tissue of a civilisation that computes.
That web is coming whether we shape it or not.
The second layer is the one that has no obvious champion. It is the experiential web — the web as humans will inhabit it. Not the web of throughput and inference, but the web of presence. The part where being there matters. The part that carries the things a token stream cannot: the weight of a room, the pause before an answer, the texture of a shared moment, the difference between knowing something and feeling it.
Exeud exists to build that second layer deliberately.
When the agentic web absorbs the work of retrieval, synthesis, and transaction, information stops being scarce. What an LLM can fetch and phrase, it will fetch and phrase, instantly and for everyone. The marginal value of "having the answer" trends toward zero.
What does not trend toward zero is experience — the irreducibly human act of being somewhere, with someone, feeling something, at a particular time that will not come again.
So we propose a different yardstick. Not clicks, not dwell time, not engagement-as-extraction. The metric is whether a thing was experienced — whether it had:
- Spatiality — a sense of place. Depth, scale, orientation, the body's intuition that here is different from there. The web has been flat for thirty years; humans never were.
- Temporality — a sense of time. Duration, rhythm, anticipation, the irreversibility that makes a moment a moment. Not content on demand, but events that happen.
- Expression — a sense of voice. The capacity to make something that is unmistakably yours, with all the idiosyncrasy and intent that machines flatten into the average.
- Emotion — a sense of stakes. The web mediated by feeling rather than feeling mediated by the web.
These are not features to bolt on. They are the point. They are what is left for us to do once the agentic layer has taken the rest.
Picture the whole system: a substrate that is fast, self-improving, and largely autonomous — fibres and silicon carrying intelligence at the speed of light — and woven through it, the human layer that gives it meaning.
The agentic web is the nervous system. The experiential web is everything the nervous system is for.
Exeud is the part that lets distinctly human qualities — spatiality, temporality, expression, emotion — permeate a digital realm that would otherwise optimise them away. Not nostalgia for an older internet, and not resistance to the new one. The opposite: a recognition that as the machine layer matures, the human layer becomes more valuable, not less — and that someone has to build it on purpose.
That is the work. Intermediated and connected by fibres and silicon, but human at the surface where it counts.
This repository is where we work through what that actually means — in theory and in practice. Expect:

- Open questions — the parts we have not figured out yet, kept visible on purpose.
It will be opinionated, it will change its mind in public, and it will get into the nitty-gritty rather than the slogans.
