    Try the following steps:

    1. Set up the environment variables listed out in the readme file.
    2. Install node-gyp as a dev dependency w/o installing node-rdkafka.
    3. Having successfully installed node-gyp, try to npm install all your dependencies, this time with node-rdkafka.
