The README-linked external-agent quickstart still describes priced reads as free during soft launch and constructs the Python client without the key needed for those reads. This update starts with a free endpoint observation or sandbox trial funding, then supplies the returned key in the curl, Python and hosted MCP examples.
The guide distinguishes evaluation credits from real payments, replaces the developer-token/Stripe onboarding diversion with the maintained payment guide, and explains routing and passport limits. The only changed file is
live/clients/QUICKSTART.md; API behavior and pricing remain unchanged.Validation: source, relative links and embedded example syntax checked; independent review passed. Required
npm run verifypasses, and the Python service suite reports 2,183 passed and 10 skipped with external network access denied. No live registration, paid request or payment was used for validation.
