👋 Hey there, I'm Ryan (aka Flushwhy) — Founder & Systems Engineer at FlushLabs

I’m an independent creator and engineer operating at the intersection of low-level systems programming, real-time game architecture, and accessibility.

My background in High-Performance Computing (HPC) ingrained in me a strict philosophy of mechanical sympathy—understanding exactly how software interacts with hardware, memory caches, and silicon. Today, modern software and games are hitting a technical ceiling due to heavy, unoptimized code. I founded FlushLabs to shatter that bottleneck, leveraging systems engineering to make advanced algorithms small, fast, and deterministic.

🧠 The Mission: Democratizing Accessibility Through Local Tech
A core driver of my current R&D is deeply personal. As someone with dyslexia, I know firsthand how life-changing text-to-speech (TTS) tools can be—and how frustrating it is that high-quality tools are gated behind heavy cloud infrastructure or expensive monthly subscriptions.

I am building a high-performance, local TTS architecture that runs efficiently on low-spec edge hardware (down to a Raspberry Pi 3) and real-time game engines. My goal is simple: Give it away entirely for free. Accessibility should not carry a premium price tag, and it shouldn't require an internet connection.

🔬 The R&D Ecosystem: Unreal, Godot, & Bare Metal
To achieve this level of optimization, I build memory-efficient systems from the ground up using C/C++, Go, and Odin, integrating them natively into engines like Unreal and Godot. Whether it's writing custom, cache-conscious data structures or local DSP pipelines, my work operates on a strict engineering manifesto: Challenge lazy abstractions, respect the hardware, and build for the end user.

💡 Why I’m on GitHub Sponsors
The sustainability of open infrastructure relies entirely on rigorous engineering oversight. Your sponsorship directly funds independent, raw R&D, allowing me to:

  • Keep Accessibility Free: Ensure my local TTS architecture, tools, and libraries remain open-source and free forever for the people who need them most.
  • Maintain Strict Independence: Focus entirely on high-performance research without corporate constraints or mainstream pressure.
  • Fuel Deep Tech & Open Utilities: Support ongoing development in local AI/ML, custom simulations, and game engine tools.

🙏 Thank You
If you’re here, you believe that rigorous engineering can build a more accessible, open world. Thank you for backing the code and supporting the FlushLabs mission—it truly means the world!
