BE 2.3.0 is the follow-up maintenance and improvement release. It holds bounded work deliberately deferred from 2.2: optional gperftools support, version-aware bulk_diff escape normalization, unused-option diagnostics, ELF input validation, clearer configure diagnostics, and removal of the obsolete compiler flag. It is not a gate for the 2.2.0 stabilization release.
