rustykid (Python)

Editable install and optional profiling engines.

Default install

cd rustykid-py
python -m venv .venv && source .venv/bin/activate
pip install maturin
maturin develop --features pyo3
python -m unittest discover -s tests -v

Optional engines (pip extras → Cargo features)

Maturin maps extras to same-named features on rustykid-python:

# Polars CSV engine
maturin develop --features pyo3,polars
# or: pip install -e ".[polars]"

# DataFusion CSV engine
maturin develop --features pyo3,datafusion
# or: pip install -e ".[datafusion]"

# Both engines
maturin develop --features pyo3,engines
# or: pip install -e ".[engines]"

Usage

import rustykid

print(rustykid.profile_engines())
# ['in-memory', 'memory', 'native']  # default build
# + 'polars' / 'datafusion' when installed with extras

report = rustykid.scan(
    input_path="../examples/sample.csv",
    dataset="python.demo",
    profile_engine="in-memory",
)

File-based profile_engine requires the matching extra at install time.
