gemini-android-client

Unofficial Gemini client for Android, written in Kotlin. A WebView hosts a local HTML interface (file:///android_asset/index.html) and talks to the Gemini API with a key you provide. Not affiliated with Google.

What it does

• Chat UI modeled on the official Gemini app: message list, input bar, attachment sheet (files, camera) and side drawer.
• API key entry on first run, stored in the WebView localStorage; the key can be replaced from the settings sheet.
• Native bridge exposed to the page as Android: create alarms, timers, calendar events and reminders, open the camera and open URLs through system intents.
• Permissions requested: INTERNET, SET_ALARM, WRITE_CALENDAR, CAMERA.

Layout

• app/: Android module (org.opassoca.geminigo, MainActivity.kt with the JavaScript bridge).
• SPEC.md: interface specification extracted from the official app with apktool (Portuguese).
• extract_real/: drawables extracted from the official app, used as reference for the UI. These belong to Google.
• .github/workflows/build.yml: CI build.

Build

./gradlew assembleDebug with the Android SDK installed (minSdk 35, targetSdk 36).

Status

Early prototype (version 0.1).
