three.js with WebXR is probably the way to go. You can use it with react-three-fiber if you want to use JSX; react-xr seem to provide a good combination of those that is ready to be used.

A-frame is a good replacement for React360. It's maintained and has a community. It's a higher level, HTML-like syntax just like React360; it still uses three.js at the lower level.

And I wrote the book on React-VR.
