undefined is not an object

via the safari debugger on iphone - trying to render an image using

        <div class="container"  data-sizes="onecol">
              <figure>
              <img data-sizes="single" src="images/page1.jpg" width="55" height="55">
              </figure>
        </div>

  </article>

no useful info given more than this error - it is in the main js file as if this is removed the error goes away.
Not a problem with emulating the iphone - no js error so far.
