Network wise, console (tested on PS4) was able to communicate fine with PC and Mobile clients on 1.4.4.9. I used a tool I developed (but never finished) to proxy myself to remote servers from PS4 Terraria and it worked without issue in 1.4.4.9. So networking is identical, I assume "crossplay" means either an account system that allows players on other platforms to add each other as friends, or a join system that is handled by a central server. |

As of 1.4.4.9 we can already play with mobile players (Android and Apple) when we are using the same version 1, without any plugin. I have no idea about the console version like XBOX/Switch/PS and their limitations. I would assume some of them does not allow joining arbitrary server and only via their platform or local network (which you'll need a proxy2). Footnotes |

Re-Logic is working to make cross-platform multiplayer available in a future update. What will this look like for TShock?
I am assuming their plan is to bring other platforms' protocols up to spec with PC's. If so, will no additional configuration or plugins be needed to support crossplay?
I understand there are a lot of unknowns right now. I just wanted to get an idea of what to expect.
