[Important] YouTube playback will fail if your DNS blocks googleapis.com or google.com

PipePipe requires access to Google endpoints for YouTube extraction and playback.

Make sure your DNS, Private DNS, VPN, firewall, hosts file, or ad blocker does not block:

• googleapis.com and its subdomains
• google.com and its subdomains

Redirecting these domains to 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1 may cause YouTube playback, SABR, or PO token failures.

Please whitelist these domains and try again before reporting a playback issue. Issues caused by DNS or network filtering are not PipePipe bugs and may be closed.

Ohh... I see now that was the main problem. Because my private DNS is an ad blocker... So that's why videos would always buffer indefinitely in the background for me😅 great... Now I need to find a DNS that won't affect Google's servers... Thanks for the explanation infinity.
I disabled my DNS today & took an hour drive today & my playlist didn't stop at all... I guess Google is really getting serious about all this.

For me, it says my IP is blocked by YouTube, and disabling doesn't do the trick (Android 16 OneUI 8.5).
Same issue on brother's side (Also Android 16 OneUI 8.5) and on my Retroid Pocket 5 (Android 13 AOSP).
However it works fine on any other YouTube client like NewPipe, YouTube Morphe, etc and is also fine when using Mobile Data.

This is pretty confusing, I'm unsure of which provider precisely is blocked...

This looks unrelated to DNS filtering. No provider is being blocked here, PipePipe classified a YouTube player response as an anti-bot response.

Other clients may still work because they use a different extraction and playback path. Since it happens on three devices using the same Wi-Fi but works with mobile data, the common point seems to be the home connection rather than Android or OneUI.

A similar problem in #2698 was fixed in 5.2.4. If u are already using 5.2.4, please tap Report and open a new issue with the complete report and your selected YouTube extraction endpoint. It would also be useful to say whether a VPN over the same Wi-Fi changes the result.

The AntiBotException documentation also explains the useful checks and what information to include.
