Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Following the 3-2-1 backup rule requires having an offsite backup. However, setting up offsite backups (e.g., via VPNs, custom rsync scripts, or complex cloud configurations) is often too complicated for everyday users.
Describe the solution you'd like
A simple, native ZimaOS-to-ZimaOS backup feature that allows users to securely back up or sync data directly to another machine running ZimaOS (for example, hosted at a friend's or family member's home).
- Key idea: A streamlined setup process to link two ZimaOS instances securely with minimal manual configuration.Key idea: A streamlined setup process to link two ZimaOS instances securely with minimal manual configuration.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Setting up manual WireGuard/Tailscale connections combined with rsync/Restic.
Cloud storage backups (which often incur recurring fees).
Additional context
Inspired by recent implementations in NAS operating systems (like HexOS) that simplify peer-to-peer offsite backups between nodes of the same ecosystem.
