After screensaver the bar is gone

If it helps, qs command is throwing a warning:

` WARN: Quickshell was built against Qt 6.11.0 but the system has updated to Qt 6.11.1 without rebuilding the package. This is likely to cause crashes, so the quickshell package must be rebuilt.

Could not find "default" config directory or shell.qml in any valid config path.`

Maybe that could help the issue?

Hello mate, yes i already working on a fix for that problem - but it has nothing really to do with the Quickshell re-build - it seems to be a problem for newer nvidia-cards.

Could you please use this shell.qml attachement and replace it - and could you also telling me what graphic-card your system has?

I solved it rebuilding quickshell-git with yay -S quickshell-git --rebult, do you need me to still run it?

About the gpu, I had some issues with my machine before so I'm using Omarchy with linux-Its now, which solved everything (bug was in Intel i915 thing).

My machine is a Alienware M16 R2, it has nvidia 4070 and intel cpu (so a internal gpu too)

yes please - try to test sleep/hibernate and let also screensaver appear without my shell.qml fix - if its still happen, than use my fix and try again please - i really appreciate it and sorry for the inconvenience.

Correction: the screensaver works fine, but after the screen going dark (guess it turns off after a while) QS is gone. I'm going to try with your file then, I assume I just throw it at ~/.config/quickshell/ right? I'll come back with the results. If you need any journalctl log lmk as well.

Yes, you need to replace it in ~/.config/quickshell/bar/ with the new one i gave you.

With your file there it simply doesn't show the bar anymore unfortunately - I copied and restarted the system, no bar is shown. Is there any log I can show you to help solve it?

EDIT: Also I noticed waybar was there for a moment then went away

EDIT3: My bad, I had a file in ~/.config/quickshell/shell.qml that shouldnt be there. I restarted and it's working back. I'll wait until the sleep again and report back

EDIT4: Ok I'm back with the results, after sleep the bar is gone unfotunately and some logs for you

• on if DP-1 disappears - and look in the bar come back to life?
• if suspend / hibernate the bar still disappears?

I have Omarchy on the notebook but its display is off (I disabled it in monitors.conf) so I'm only using the display connected to the HDMI, probably only using NVIDIA card then. I don't know if that's the issue though. Is there a way to check what is killing the process? Where on discord may I contact you (what server)?

Closed with 6553da8 (released in v2.3.1): V1 bar now binds to the first real Wayland output via Variants, skips nameless/0x0 placeholder screens, and retries remapping on resourcesLost/closed without a full shell reload. Local checks covered S3 suspend/resume, manual lock/display-off, and the natural hypridle screensaver path.
