What is the latest news on universal subgraph editing?

A while ago, it was part of the roadmap to allow users to reuse subgraphs, but to also update every individual instance of that published subgraph when the original is edited. Is this still a planned feature? What are the latest relevant PRs/issues/discussions? Is there a timeline?
