Heat meters

Hello,

Thank you for this excellent integration working smoothly with my powertags.

I also have two Sontex Supercal 5 Final heat meters connected to my PAS600 over Modbus. Is there a way to get this data back to HASS, either using this integration or another one, or directly using HASS modbus integration?

We don't currently have support for connected modbus devices. Since it's general purpose, I'm not sure if adding support adds value over the existing modbus integration in HASS.

Can you give me some hints about how I could do that and where to find the documentation? I am not sure whether the PAS600 actually replicates the modbus registers of client modus device and what would be the addresses of such devices in the PAS600.

And to answer your question, auto discovery and configuration of such additional devices attached to the PAS600 would certainly be a plus!

Yeah sure, in the manual, the section on Modbus Gateway Function will tell you how to configure it:

This integration aims to be a solution for the devices directly supported by the gateway. It can't possibly support all modbus devices universally I'm afraid.

Thank you so much for the pointers. I managed to make it work. And I agree with you: probably not possible to support all possible modbus devices.

I was wondering, however, if there was some standardisation in the modbus registers by device family, which would allow to automatically configure for some of them.
